Another DEI motor

Man I'll bet Jr will be happy when he can run a Hendrick car and not DEI. 5th dnf and it was not that long ago that Truex had one.

Maybe a combination of RCR and DEI is what it sounded like when Jr spoke. Really doesnt matter as he will be out of there in a few more months.

Then he can have a car from the best shop in town.

From what I heard it wasn't a motor shop issue, it was a driver issue. Downshifting to early and letting her hit 10300 is going to make any motor go boom, nomatter what shop it comes out of.

It was just a DEI motor, while DEI and RCR have combined forces in the motor department, they said that this engine was just an earlier DEI motor. Jr. did say that in practice the car was so bad that he would have to downshift earlier than he wanted while the RPM's were high. Still though...out of 5 DNF's for Jr. this year, 4 have been for blown motors: California, Texas, Indy (running 3rd at time), and at the Glen (running 3rd at the time. Frustrating.

Hard to blame the engine shop when both the driver and the crew chief say themselves that they hurt the motor in practice...

Yes, he did state that he may have caused this in practice as his car wasnt very good and he shifted to soon. Many others where he didnt shift and the valve train was suspect.

4 blown motors for Dale Jr. (3 not his fault), and at least 1 for sure for Truex, and I think Menard has had one go too. So, that's 6 for DEI I think, 5 of which not being driver fault. To me, that's a high number.
