mlvaj
We were out on N and S Center all day yesterday. My buddies were getting to know the lakes for an upcoming club tourney this weekend. We did alright but didn't get any good tourney fishes. We caught only 2 that were in the 2-3 lbs range that could be good. We caught them with senko. We fished deep but couldn't get anything to bite. The 2 good fish came of 5 ft of water. We marked fish all day and seems like the bigger fish were in 15 to 20 ft. I tried drop shotting but that didn't work. Dietz, you fish these lakes often, what are you choices to getting these fish to bite? We tried small 4 inch worms to topwater to whatever and nothing. Just asking for your thoughts. Thanks
OLY
I have always had good luck out there with a deep diving crankbait like a fat free shad. If you can find rocks in deep water you can do pretty good with a deep diving crankbait. Otherwise I would say hit the slop and just cover water. I have seen some monster bags caught in all different areas of slop on south center.
Deitz Dittrich
Like the above post said, its seems like the bigger fish are relating to the deeper rocks... But if I am going to be honest with you.. The lake has not been kicking out the numbers of larger fish like it had 2 years ago... Most tournament weights are in the 11-13 lbs for 5 fish winning weight. So a limmit of 2 lb fish and a couple of 3 lb kickers and you may take it?I have been doing best on a drop shot, but also have taken a few decent fish out of pads and a few on cranks... st.crioxfishin
Listen to what Deitz has to say. I had a club tournament out there on saturday and did pretty much what Deitz just mentioned. I had a limit on frogs by 7:15. I fished them around pads and shallow slop. I then went out and fished deeper spots with a drop shot and upgraded. Either rocks or sharp breaking shorelines were key. I was fortunate to get on a school of 2 pounders at the end of the day where I pulled 5 fish in 5 casts. I was able to cull out my three smaller 1.5lb frog fish with those ones and ended the day with 12 1/2 pounds.
Superduty
It's been a while since I've been to N&S Center. Is the new bridge done and navigable. Sad to hear the weights have been down lately. Wasn't very long ago it took 20 lbs for 5 bass to win. It's amazing how the reeds have disappeared in the last 10 years.
Deitz Dittrich
Nice to see you bud... Been a while!... Yes the bridge is done and great!
Cabela10
The bridge could of been built a little wider though. With so many pontoons on that lake, you can only bring one boat through at a time. Very tight squeeze.
