Time for a Jet!

Sure wish I had a Jetboat about now! confused.gif

The river is so freakin' low right now, if she drops another 6-12", it'll be a no-go with a prop from most every landing from Mankato past Shakopee. The areas south are already a no-go with a prop.

I found lots of 1 1/2' deep water both ways from Shakopee this weekend. Along with the shallow water, I also found one heck of a litte rock peninsula sticking into the river with my prop. I had no problem motoring through that same spot last weekend according to my previous GPS track. The prop is still good but I really chewed the edge of one blade up. My prop is also silver now instead of black! blush.gif

For the KOTC Gathering... my lord... wood, wood, wood!! I hit 5 or 6 "just under the surface" logs heading down to the gathering site.

Moral of the story is take it SLOW!!! Not much else to say about it... unless we get some rain, things are going to be nasty, nasty in another week.

I really thought about a jet before I bought my new boat. If all I was going to do was chase cafish, thats the boat I would have purchased. Being I fish the lake more than the river, I purchased the boat I have as it works preety good everywhere.

When I win the lottery then I will pursue another purchase. I will then have the best of both worlds.

Ed has it right on!

I wouldn't be to sure about putting any kind of mud motor on the minnesota, short or long. We'll just say there have been a few people that I know that have lost their props to the river. They wedge easily between rocks and logs.
