I think we're seeing the tail end of it. We've actually been able to catch a few flatheads lately compared to 3 weeks ago. I take that as a good sign. I've also heard rumor of 2 very, very large flatheads being caught recently by a fellow BP Cat League angler. One fish I believe to be a solid 50lb +.

There are a couple of things that are going to make fishing difficult coming up- low flow and a surplus of bait fish. The Shad run should be going on with all sorts of baby shad starting to show up in the river. The low flow doesn't concentrate the bait fish like we'd like it to. The bait is spread out, the fish that eat that bait are spread out, and the fish that eat those fish are spread out.

Thanks Hanson,

A couple of weeks ago, a buddy and I did "back to back" all nighters. I don't think I could handle it again.

We did manage a 35" and a 37". They were nice fish but I am looking forward to " The Big Girl".

Thanks again,

tweed

Them are some nice cats, why isnt there a "lets see pictures of your big cat" topic on here? I want to see pictures, Im not saying people arent catching, I just want to see the big pictures! I have witnessed a 56#er caught a few years ago, and released! We didnt have a camera to take pictures of it though.

Actually he is a member here, just not real active. There are pics and hopefully he will share them. If not, I understand. I can pretty much guarantee the one with a 31" girth is 50! Sure would like to see them added to the safari thread.

I keep kicking myself that I didn't measure the girth on my 50+ fish. mad.gif
