I use some big stainless steel eye screws for about 2$ each from Menards or any other hardware stores. I use a Flathead screwdriver as a handle to screw them into the ice. Besides I use the flathead screwwdrive as an ice chipper when need be.

You can take a piece of rope (1foot long or so)tie it into a loop. Then take the knot and drill a shallow hole 2to3 inches in the ice and freeze just the knot into the hole so you end up with a loop of rope that will hold up to the strongest wind you can imagine.c63Hope this helps.................c63 grin.gif

The real ice anchors that ice climbers use are worth the extra bucks as they go in and out sweet . Once you use them you will never go back to those regular looking and acting screw deals similar to those used by dog owners etc . as they are work . The real ice anchors can be twisted in and out with only a finger and no real cranking involved .
