Questor
I'm trying to find a compact an economical thermometer for finding the thermocline in lakes. Can you recommend a good one? This is for typical central MN lakes, not really big deep water. I just want something that I can take out into the lake and drop it down to find the thermocline depth, then put the tool away. I don't need something that stays at depth.Thanks.
cold one sd
Cabelas has them. I don't know how much wire you need on one. My brother has one that will read down to 150 feet. I think that most of the ones in their catalog only go to 50 feet. I'm not sure, but it might be worth a look.
Bobb-o
i have one by humminbird but it only has a thirty foot cord. they cost $20 at cabelas. do you have a depthfinder? on most depthfinders you can crank up the sensitivity until you can see the thermocline.
