polarsusd81
So yesterday I brought my lil boy to the launch on the Sippi in Anoka just to have a little fun near the water. We were a lil way up the shoreline from the launch and saw a couple guys fishing off the front of a 'Toon. I think these guys didn't know what they were doing, or maybe it is a new way to fish Senko's. They were just casting them out and reeling them straight back to the boat. No action given to them at all. Not even the slightest twitch of the rod. I watched them for a few minutes, they were just out of yelling distance (too many people around to just start yelling tips accross the river) To their credit, I didn't see any doubled over rods. I wanted to get close enough to give em some tips, but maybe they are onto something new. Has anyone actually caught fish this way? Maybe with a curly tail worm or grub, but not a soft plastic stickbait?
TNFL
usually when fishing shallow structure I just reel it in after I am past the "structure". Sometimes a fish will follow so I pause for about 5 seconds about 7-10 ft from the boat just in case. Ive caught a few this way.
TurnUpTheFishing
They may have been a some of the new swimming senkos or paddle tail versions by other companies.
BassAkwards
Swim senkos when rigged weightless and 5/0 hook are meant to be "swimmed" back during retrieve. the tail creates good swimming action and quite enticing.
HeIsLegend
Don't eat Senkos. The watermelon ones don't taste like watermelon.
senkoskipper
if you put a small weight in front of the senko you can actually walk the dog under the water. For some reason northerns love that.
