Lac Seul Muskies

Recommended Posts

A friend and I are heading up to Lac Seul for a Muskie/Walleye trip. We have fished the lake for walleyes and we know where to get those but we have never fished up there for Muskies. We are staying at Mahkwa resort. Can anyone give us some starting points?

we stay at mahkwa but we only walleye fish.We almost ran up to the other part for some muskies but never did. There is some great pike action on the back side of the island. We have caught some big pike throwin rattle traps from shore.

We fish out of Mahkwa every year and have only seen two muskies in 12 years around there. I've targeted them a few times but only caught Pike. Granted they were some nice pike. I believe the Muskies are concentrated more to the east. You won't be disappointed with the walleye but if you are really hoping for a muskie you might be. You'll still have a great time.

good luck as stated the Musky action is more east.......but within 20 minutes you can find great northern action.....just look for weed growth on shore or underwater and start pitching......the bigger therns were harder to find this year with the lake levels having risen the last few weeks but still 3ft lower than normal currently....good luck
