question on selling used boat

If I a resident of South Dakota sell a used boat to a Minnesota resident do I need to provide a bill of sale?

Boat's current titles and registration are all up to date. What am I responsible for as a seller?

just want to make life easier for the guy who is buying my boat.

It would'nt hurt! The DMV here is messed up they'll do what ever the person at the counter thinks anyway.I just tried to register a new used trailor I just bought with a boat and motor on it,I recieved a letter back from the DMV stating I sold that trailor in 2003,The first trailor I ever sold in Mn.was just sold 3 weeks ago!So here goes the dealing with the DMV again!! It took 22 months to title a 1950 Jeep here! At least I live in a small town with a DMV thats close not crowded and their leader knows me from dealing with the Jeep!!
