NASCAR Sprint Cup Series -What?

Word is that the cup series will no longer be called the Nextel Cup, but next year it will be calle the Sprint Cup. This will take some getting used to. Money talks, I guess

I'm still getting used to the change from Winston cup to Nextel cup. I just call it "The Cup", who cares who sponsors it, just as long as they leave the racing alone don't dicate changes or how things should be run. But then again they always do (ATT/RCR vs Sprint). The whole thing slowly becomes more talk every year.

Sprint and Nextel are the same now and Nextel as a brand is going away completely. They actually thought this was coming when they made it Nextel cup and wrote this into the initial contract with NASCAR that they get one free name change... Funny how they don't think Cingular should get the same results.
