spinner blade question ?

I pull blades anywhere from 0.5 mph to 1.5 mph. The key when spinner fishing is to figure out what speed the fish want it. If you are catching them at 1 mph and they quit biting speed up to 1.3 and try again. More than likely you will pick up a few more fish.

Obviously you need a decent amount of weight for these speeds if you are fishing deeper water. I typically use a 1.5 to 2.0 ounce bottom bouncer or in-line weight for spinners. Another good way to rig is with a 3 way rig.

I'm generally pulling them between 1.0 - 1.5, but as stated, whatever the fish like the best. Size for me is generally a 4 or 5 Colorado blade, but that can vary on the day too. If conditions are tough, I may drop down to a size 1-2 Indiana blade, or if they are really hot I may go up in size. As far as the weight of the bottom bouncer, etc, the least amount you can get away with, but still get to the bottom. For me either chartrouse, green, silver or gold will usually catch fish on any given day, but of course there are always exceptions. I also like to pump the spinner every so often to put a little extra action on it. Many strikes occor just after I've pulled it forward a couple of times and then drop it back. Of course there are also the days when the best bites come when leaving it in the holder and not touching it until they hit it. Unfortunately every day on the water is a littel different and you just have to figure out the pattern for the day.

Mostly 4's and bigger. I troll spinners to cover water not as a suttle technique so I dont mess around with under 1mph usually unless Im pulling very small spinners. Usually I run 1-1.6 mph.

I prefer deeply cupped Colorados.
