Scott K
stay mobile and troll.....Find structure then after hitting a few in that area slip bobber. Or just follow all the other boats! Look for markers
eyewarrior
1st I'd find a FM forum that has the lake in question. Also talk to bait shops, Get lake map? GPS chip? After you get all the available info its up to you to put fish on. If that doesnt work just follow all the other boats! Look for markers
guppie
especially look for the boats with guys jumping around grabbing for the nets!
PerchJerker
Get a lake map, identify good looking areas, talk to bait shops, resort owners, other fisherman, etc. to get a starting point.Get on the water and use your electronics, look for fish and baitfish in those locations.Fish the concentrations of fish, or troll to look for fish or to rule out unproductive areas. Outstanding answer!Nothing beats using your fish locator & marking fish. Then working that area. When I hit a new lake I don't even wet a line for the 1st hour.I'm spending the time locating fish.It doesn't matter what anyone says. Fish move!Study the lake map, identify key areas and then get to locating fish.Once you've done all of that ,then get to fishing.
wazz
Thanks guys, that give me some good ideas...I not real big on pushing in on other boats.I have a map and have located some starting points. I like the idea of riding the electronics before you start fishing.I'm kinda a trolling crankbaits guy, not to much with the live bait...I can't keep the kids baited all the time. Then tend to throw the bait off. But I suppose I could try it.Thanks for the info guysWazz
