Trolling motor issues

My trolling motor (Maxxum 74) is stuck on 100%. has anyone ever changed the dial (I think it's a rheostat), and if so is it difficult to do??? where do you get the part, or how much was the charge to have a repair shop do it?

I would call Minn Kota and get the phone number for the rep in your area. The Rep will be able to get you the parts you need and also be able to fixes it for you in a timely manner. Capra’s is a certified Minn Kota shop

last weekend was out on a buddies boat, 12 volt kota, stuck on full boar, except this was a different issue, the variable resistor shorted and just gave it full ampeorage the whole time, melted the thing, kinda cool but expensive
