New News - #55 Waltrip Car - Labonte

HOF#13

This seemed to get lost in all the Dale Jr. talk this week, but noteworthy none the less. Michael Waltrip will give up the seat to his #55 Napa Toyota on the two road course races this year in favor of Texas Terry Labonte.

Gotta get the car in the show somehow since they aren't actually being good enough to qualify their way in....they should be thankful for past champion provisionals.

They really need to mix things up over there or this could get even worst then it is.

I would agree with Harvey Lee, Mickey will not run a race the rest of the year.

Go Texas Terry.

Toyota's headquarters are in Japan. They have satelite offices all over the world but the buck stops in Japan.

Elliot was contacted about driving for MWR and using his past championship provisionals there too but said he didn't need the money that bad. grin.gif

What Busch car has Bill Elliot been driving this year? If he has this year (I don't remember if he has or not) I'm sure it wasn't an MWR car and it's the Cup side of MWR that we are talking about. Get a clue.

Bill Elliot did not race a #32 Camry, he attempted to qualify but didn't make the show, and has no Busch points for the year. Still, you are comparing apples to oranges here, the story is MWR and past championship winning drivers, and who is willing to look like a fool for money. Jarrett and Labonte are the fools so far and cheapening the intent of the past championship rule. I bet we see even more changes to the rule by next year.

The Wood Bros are doing the same. HOF racing did the same last year or the year before. This is nothing new. I would argue that they are not cheapening the rule. I think the stupid top 35 rule is what is causing this.
