Kyle Sandberg
I have an lowarnce X71 and was wondering if you could buy a new system and not have to change the ducer?
0 gofishingtom
K-Dawg...your x-71 transducer will not be compatible with other depth finders the ducer is but the cable hook-ups wont be...when you buy a new graph its easy to change out just make sure you tie a rope or cord onto the transducer cable and pull it through your boat and hook the new transducer to rope and pull back through..makes it alot easier to change out..also when hooking up rope make sure you tie it good so it doesnt come off 1/2 way through..i usually tie off rope and then tape it so it doesnt come off..good luck!! hope this helps out
0 fishin58
Along the same lines, I just went from an Eagle 128 to an Eagle 242, the back plug for the 128 went right in to the 242 and the unit worked right away.. would I need to switch it over eventually (tranducer) or is the exact same. 0 gofishingtom
fishin58>>> if it plugged in the back and the new unit works and reads the depth you should be fine until the transducer goes out then you would have to change out..life expectancy of transducer depends on how much you use it..ur lucky that they were compatible most arent they are always changing plug formations...
