Jim W
harpooner,Last MArch on Lake of the Woods, I out fished 4 others using an Angel Eye!!!!The walleyes really loved the Hammered Gold!It takes a little getting use to when jigging them. They fall slower, but man, after catching, I soon became a believer!!!!Definitely worth the dough!!!!!Keep the rods bendin'!!!Jim W
fiskyknut
Take a look at some of the posts from last winter, you'll find many rave reviews. AE jr's are one of my favorite ice lures for sure, I'm on LOTW 4 or 5 days a week in the winter and the perch color with gold back was on my jigging rod 90% of the time! I wish Scenic would come out with one right in between the size of the regulars and the jr's.... Jeff if you do I will gladly test them out for you!!!!Fisky
Guest
As I sit and type this I am looking at a Big Card of Angel Eye Jr. Spoons. They are a major part of my Winter Arsenal. They work great for for Walleye, Pike, Crappies & Perch.Depending on the lake I have a couple of favortites if you are looking for specific colors. The hammered gold is an all around favorite of mine after last season, but the Blue/White-Glow was tough to beat last year. I think there is a new one for this year that Glows Red. I am sure it will be hot, I just haven't had the time to try it. Add then to your Winter Aresenal and you will be glad you did. Guest
Just to throw in my .02. Nothing, and I mean nothing, worked better last winter on URL for those crappies than the Angel Eye Jr. in the pink and white glow version. I would say last winter that was the only thing I fished 90 % of the time. It was just that effective.------------------Paul[email protected]
Guest
Thanks for the replys.A couple more question though. Is there just the Angel Eye Jr. or is there a bigger size to. because on the fishing mn page it only shows the Angel Eye JR. And when ordering is it possible to specify certain colors and types you want or do you have to order the packages they offer. Thanks again for your replys. Guest
The pink/white glow was by far my favorite. Blue was in 2nd and green in 3rd.I have a rod exclusively for Angel Eyes only! Then fish a dead rod/bobber combo next to it, and look out!!
eyeballs
harpooner, this is no lie. Last year Hawgtime and I were fishing Calhoun in Minneapolis and after 3 or 4 walleyes, Hawgtime says "come over here for a minute! I walked over and saw blips on his FL-8 jumping 10ft off the bottom for his Angeleye! We ended up with 28 in two hours (all but 8 released). I was an eye awakening. I have plenty of them now!Oh yeh!, That was in 52ft of water!
Guest
Who ever said they're just for ice fishing? It's a great drifting/slow trolling presentation for those suspended summer crappies!FLB

Guest
Both the Angel Eye and the Angel Eye Jr. are by far the best jigging spoon you can use through the ice! I have been using them for a couple years now and I am still amazed how well they work.Any fish that swims under the ice will eat these spoons, and I mean anything! Now I'm all excited for ice fishing and I'm not even done fishing the soft water yet! ------------------Adam Johnsonwww.adamjohnsonfishing.com

Scenic
When using the Angel Eye or the Angel Eye Jr.s it is important to use a sensitive rod to feel not only the softest bite but one to feel slack in your line from fish hitting the spoon and swimming up with it. It is also important to use a quality reel that will let your line free spoon out very easily. With the design of this spoon it will drift off to the side of your hole if your line is allowed to free spoon from your reel. The thing you need to watch is for is a fish grabbing your spoon on the way down. This spoon often times will attract fish to come up off the bottom more then normal A lot of people are reporting walleye and perch coming way off the bottom to do just this. They also claim that when they see these fish on their locators up high these fish are super aggressive. As far as weights of line and rods, I prefer a very light action noodle rod for crappies and perch with 4 lb line. With these rods I can detect the slightest bites and with the extremely sharp hooks I feel a very light action rod does not tear out of the mouths of Crappies as often. When setting the hook I do more of a sweeping motion rather than a snap set. For Walleye I prefer a medium action rod with an extra fast tip. I use 6 lb line for most of my walleye fishing. This allows me to detect light biters as well as set the hook a bit harder in a snapping motion. This spoon shows up very well on a locator and it is important to watch your screen to see how the fish are reacting to your presentation. It seems everyone fishes them just a little different. Some of the fisherman/women who have used the Angel Eyes may share their methods.Good LuckJeff
Guest
I prefer to use light line with the Angel Eye Jr's. I prefer 6 lb Vanish. Yes, it does jump off the spool if you are not careful but it is really tough stuff. As for how to fish the Angel Eye, well it is a lighter spoon and that is the reason for the lighter line. Most of the fish I get take the AE on the fall because of its unique decend. Another approach that should not be overlooked is fishing it on a dead stick. This worked really good on Red Lake for those big crappies and on LOW for walleye. Scott Steil
curt quesnell
I organized my AEjrs last night after readingall these posts. Went and bought a new plastic box for them. Slept with the boxunder my pillow. Will jig them in the Morris Point Gap thisweekend. From past experiance I may bringthe Vexilar with to watch JR in action. Itis more fun to watch and target individualfish.Curt
Scenic
Curt is a man that takes his fishing serious and he is ready! Sure glad to hear he put them in a box before putting them under his pillow!! Could have been a bad night! Have fun up there this weekend. It is fun with the Angel Eye Jrs when you have more then one fish chasing them. I seen that up there last winter several times. It appeared as though they were competing for it. Guest
Jeff and Scott are right. You need to use fairly light line to get the best results from these spoons. If you match your line correctly, these spoons have awesome action. I have had really good luck using 8 lb fireline for the regular Angel Eye, and 4 lb fireline for the Angel Eye Jr. Fireline works especially well if you are fishing in deeper water. The low strech (almost no strech) allows you to feel every bite, every flutter, and you get a very good hookset. ------------------Adam Johnsonwww.adamjohnsonfishing.com
