90hp yamaha fizzling out

ssaamm

Question

I have a 90 4-stroke Yamaha (03) which up until this Spring has ran like a champ. This year when I put her in neutral and idle, it eventually kills. If I keep the tachometer over 10 she stays alive. When I put the throttle down it runs fine. I have it winterized every year, oil changed, stabilize the gas, etc. One of my theories was bad/old gas. I have gone through about 2 new tanks this year so far. I did put in some SeaFoam. It might be a little better- not much. A buddy said change the plugs, and if it's not better you may need some carb work. Any thoughts would help. Thanks

I believe that motor is fuel injected. You may need to have the injectors cleaned. You can run some injector cleaner through, but still may have to take it in to have them checked.
