It'll come , hang in there . I got a little chuckle in the newspaper on Sunday . A guy was lamenting that this years opener was a little slower than years past . He made a comment to the effect that he and a relative would annually keep about 300 fish ( Walleyes ) , apiece - I presume , in the first month of the season . Sounded odd to me that a guy who seemed to keep every legal fish he caught would complain that there just didn't seem to be as many fish . I have kept 5 Walleyes in the past 10 years and started to wonder about how many fish people keep . Do you keep every legal fish you boat ? Every fish every other trip ? A few once in a while ? Do you feel that because you pay for a license that you feel a need to get your money back by keeping all the fish you catch ? I'm not trying to judge anyone here and feel that if you choose to keep all the legal fish you catch - thats your business . Just trying to get a gauge on the catch & release mentality among walleye fisherman and not pointing a finger at any one person .

if i target fish that i may eat, i will keep just enough for one meal per week. so if i go fishing 3 times in a week, i might keep 2 walleyes in those 3 trips or 6-8 crappies for those 3 trips. and thats for feeding me, the wife and the 3 year old.
