bigyooper
I have a 82 crestliner that has a bench seat in the back.it has pedistal seating in the middle and front.I am wondering if I can take the back bench out and put a pedistal in?I am worried that it will ruin the boat an dmake it less stable?thanks,
sparcebag
Don't take this as for sure! But I do think that rear bench provides support for the side walls of the boat, remove it and they get flimzy, unless other support is put in to take its place. IFallsRon
Glass or aluminum?
iffy
Yes you can put a pedesal seat in, but you would need to get under the floor to install some aluminum for the pedestal screws to bite into. They wouldnt stay in just plywood for long.

Steve Bakken
We do this quite a bit at the boat shop. The key is to replace the seat with some type of structure that will maintain the support that the seat provided. Alot of times, we'll put in a rod locker and re-rivet it to the sidewall. Livewells, controll panels, your imagination is the limit.
