gunflint
Today I received a Mr. Walleye Series rod that I ordered. The catalog states that it's an IM7 Graphite. The rod says Spiral Halix Carbon Fiber. It seems to be a nice rod for client use but is this a graphite? Thanks

0 RobertELee
And yes, Carbon fiber is a polymer which is a form of graphite. Graphite is a form of pure carbon. In graphite the carbon atoms are arranged into big sheets. The sheets look like chicken wire. Carbon fiber is aranged into strands. They look like ribbons of graphite. Bunches of these ribbons like to pack together to form fibers, hence the name carbon fiber.
