Best Lures For Walleye

Any suggestions out there on what the best lures are for Walleye in clear water Canadian Lakes?

Jigs,things like that all sort of different colors and take extra because the rocks like to eat them.

jigs of all colors really, but especially gold and silver. tip it with a fathead minnow and hold on! we use 1/4 oz. just to get down quicker.

Jig w/ minnow; minnow on hook lindy style; and don't forget your RAPALAS!!! Deep diver and huskies. We do awesome trolloing in and out of bays w/ the deep diving glass shad rap staying at about 15- 17 f.o.w. If they are there, they should hit that. Purple perch and green perch my favorites.

From my experiences fishing in Canada. The people in the boat using spinners will usually catch the most fish and will get hung up less often, BUT the person using a jig will usually catch the biggest fish.

I prefer using jigs; the last fews years I've only used gulp or power bait on my jig and keep up with people using live bait. It's also a lot easier, not having to keep minnows alive in the bush.

I usually start out using white or gold and switch to yellow/green.

My wife's grandfather fishes Rainy and only uses #11 Rapalas and does well. So to answer your question, I would have to say it's a lot about personal preference and what style of fishing you like to do.

Thank you for the advice. I am new to Walleye fishing so when you talk about jigs are these hair jigs or jigs with grub bodies?

I purchase my jigs in bulk. As stated earler, you will leave some on the rocks. Plain colored jig heads 1/4 and 3/8oz. Then I put gulp or power bait on them. As you mentioned, you can buy them all set up with hair, feathers, and grubs attached.
