Cooter
What an incredible sight, last night snooping around with the turkeys we came across a grouse in a little grassy clearing in full strut! Neck feathers were flared to the max and that old tail fan was spread wide open. Absolutely beautiful and the first time I've seen it. The funny thing was about 150 yards away 3 big toms were in full strut as well

sticknstring
A very cool encounter indeed! I hope the little buggers made the winter alright with the early lack of snow... I've heard very little drumming in the Marcell area. Time will tell in the upcoming weeks...

I have seen a grouse go into that display one year during the spring mating season as I drove my car close to it. It then hopped on my hood and attacked my window!! I sprayed some windshield washer fluid and turned on the wiper blades and then it flew off
