Okoboji Open

Anyone fish it? I'm headed down friday morning for the Anglers choice on sunday. Hows it looking down there?

I'm not sure about Okoboji specifically, but I have been fishing around Iowa City, in SE Iowa quite a bit lately. A majority of the fish are still prespawn in the bigger lakes; in the smaller lakes and ponds they are just about to spawn, if they haven't already. This full moon has really brought a lot of fish shallow in the smaller lakes and they are just about to lock on beds. Saw a couple 5lbers crusing the shoreline yesterday, but no takers, man that was frustrating!

I would say on Okoboji, you may be looking at a prespawn bite, with some moving shallow soon to start to spawn. I was on a bigger lake down here on sat. and did well with chatterbaits...

it was a blast all the 14 7/8 bass you want took me until 10 am to get 5 and then try to find the kicker but that did not work but had fun, it was a great time also for next weekend have a game plan now.

so much for calm winds today it just sucked, had a good time but not like it was like last weekend but got a few but thats iowa!

When is/was this tournament? I see that there is one down there the 19th. Okoboji is a fun lake to fish on, have caught many nice bass on there through the years.

the open was may 5, the tournament on the 19th i think woods bait & tackle is putting that one on also on the 20th the iowa bass is putting one on also if you need more info let me know.
