MIKE IN lINO III
I have a 42lb thrust Minnkota Auto Pilot Turbo Pro 812 that will not turn to the right. It turns to the left no problem and runs at different speeds but will not go right. I replaced the foot pedal and that did not resolve the problem. Any ideas? Central Bassman
Call Minnkota and get the number to the service guy in your area... He will know whats wrong with it in minutes!!!
bassNspear
the pad itself might be shot. I have had this problem before, and i have replaced my pad, and it worked after that.
Krebber
Does it have power when you go straight and left...but only lose power when you go right? If so, might be a short in the power cord - between the head of trolling motor and the base of the unit. This happened to mine last summer. Called MinnKota and they sent me a new power cord no charge. And if I can install a replacement, anyone can.
MIKE IN lINO III
Bass N Spears, I replaced the foot pad and it did the same thing. Krebber, I'm not sure if it looses power when I try to go right, I'll have to check that tonight. Thanks, Mike

bassNspear
the best thing is to be able to figure out the problem, and if minnkota is going to give you a free estimate, i would do it.
Bobby Bass
I had this problem with my motor and I found out that it was a lose connection for the short cord on the motor itself to the mount. Had nothing to do with my foot pedal. Check that connection out.
HDRIDER02
Hey Mike Ihad the same thing happen on my 812. Sent it in to MinnKota and was told by them that the circuit board shorted out.If you send it in,make sure to send along the foot pedal as they will ck it all out at the same time.Mine was 7yrs old,and it cost about 125$ to fix. They told me to make sure that the power cord is unpluged when charging the battery incase of a power spike.Hope this helps you out.
