GOBBLER GUILLOTINE

Well I am going to try hunting turkeys this year with my bow. I saw the GOBBLER GUILLOTINE on tv and had to try it.

I just sighted in my bow with the longer arrow and the 125 grain field tip. drops alot more than my normal set up. I usually can shoot flat out to around 25 yards

I sighted it in at 20 yards like it says and then shot the GUILLOTINE itself at a Hanging pillow and blankets.

Dead on at 20 yards and flew very nice.

I am wondering if anyone has used this hunting or just for practice. If you have, any tips on hunting with it. How do turkeys react to the the noise of the bow and what the effective range is. I have only shot it once. at longer distance like 30 or 35 does it react like the field point or more drop?

If you have shot a turkey with one would like to hear what the experience was like.

I have not used the guillotine, last year i used a 2inch diameter mechanical broadhead from my blind. it worked pretty good. its pretty difficult to hunt turkey's with the bow, it makes it that much harder. i am thinking about the guillotine this year also.

Glad to hear it. I've got one all ready to go as well. Shot it a few times and it flew well out to 20. Haven't tried beyond that yet. Time extensive replacing blades and sleeves. I've heard guys getting them out to 50 with both Gateway magnums and 6 fletching offset blazers... I've got a small broadhead case that holds 3 of them all ready to shoot that you can stick in your vest to save you time in the field if you don't have a special quiver for them. Just screw em into an insert to keep the blades tight. Any bird within 15 yds will get a guillotine otherwise it'll be a hammerhead. Good luck to you and your turkey decapitation!

I've shot the guillotine for 3 years now, and have helped several friends get into them as well. While folks I've taken out have killed more birds with them than I have personally, I will say that you need to be careful about taking shots past 20 yards for a few reasons:

-while these heads are more forgiving than standard heads in terms of wounding, you still can put alot of undue stress on a bird by taking a bad shot

-waiting for a better shot isn't an option after you've taken a long-distance one

-turkeys are quite often, constantly in motion - taking longer shots increases the odds that the bird will move between when you let the arrow fly and when it connects

I've seen shots at 40, and I've heard of shots at 60 from trusted sources. I think it's silly to shoot turkeys at these distances however, esp. with expandables or fixed blade heads. With an incredibly small kill zone already, you're exponentially increasing the odds that you'll wound and not cleanly kill the bird.

That said, I think the head does what it's designed to do quite well, but due to trajectory concerns of the long/heavy arrow and heavier point, make sure your yardages are spot on when you shoot.

w/ the guillotine you gotta be a good shot so you hit it in the head or else its like shootin at 94 yards w/ six shot nuttin but a tickle gootchie gootchie goo

Have you guys had a chance to see the video of these? I know you have shot them, but the video is crazy
