Rost
When my Maxxum is on "intermittent" mode, it seems to short out once in awhile. I hit the button and sometimes it will work, other times it doesn't. It makes a rapid clicking sound like something is loose and not quite getting power. It started last summer, but I noticed it again last night after I hooked everything back up.Is there anything I can check before I take it in? Any info would be appreciated. bassNspear
Hmm. Sounds kinda wierd to me. I would call a tech at a boat dealership, they will be able to help ya out.
prov1900
I have the same problem. Mine is allegedly heading back to the factory, but that is another story for another post. It would run for about an hour or two, then start cutting out for at least 20 minutes at a time. Replaced two circuit breakers, seemed to fix the issue, but lo and behold, it happened again. Without me, my trolling motor is useless, without my trolling motor, I am useless BTW, I returned the motor to the dealership who said that they would take care of it ASAP, but nearly two and a half months later, I discovered that it is still sitting in the shop. Spring is right around the corner!!
Rost
Good News! Had my electrical buddy over tonight and the problem is not my moter, it's my plug in/receptacle! Thanks for your help anyways.
kjgmh
If it is a couple of years old make sure it is updated with the new "reed" style mom switch and new board.
