mnwild
What is the law for needing these stickers?? I mainly ride the ditch going north & south on HWY 65 in Blaine going through Ham Lake, E.Bethal and so on. I am not riding on a state trail so I take it I don't need one. Now someone told me I do need a state trail sticker, is that true?? I looked on the DNR HSOforum it says "A Snowmobile State Trail sticker is required for all snowmobiles operating on state or grant-in-aid trails". The question I have is what is a "grant-in-aid-trail"? Can someone help me on this??I hope this makes sense....
ChuckN
A state trail and grant-in-aid trail are maintained, groomed and marked snowmobile trails. According to the DNR state trail map, yes, that section of ditch from Andover to Isanti is labeled as a grant-in-aid snowmobile trail. You need the sticker. http://files.dnr.state.mn.us/maps/snowmobiling/map9.pdf Even if you touch any sort of a marked trail you need the permit. mnwild
Thank you very much for the info. I know along HWY 65 they do mark the trails so I am now stopping after work at the license bereau and getting these stickers.
