Ice auger leaks gas

I have a ice auger that leaks gas. The gas leaks out of the bottom of the carb and leaks out of exhaust. It does run but is very hard starting. I suspect that the problem is with the float in the carb. Is this an easy fix or should I have the professional look at it?

I bought mine as a reconditioned unit and also had a leak problem. Since I had just bought it, I took the auger in to Big Lake and they fixed it right there in about 15 minutes. Apparently there was a part that got bent open when the carburator was assembled that didn't stop the flow of gas into the carb. Now it works great.
