1995 Polaris XLT Special

Looking for input.

I just bought a '95 Polaris XLT Special with 5000 miles on it. I got it reasonable and I'm too old to "hot rod" it so it should last me a while. Runs like a Timex watch, and it's a really clean sled. Not a scratch on it. Rebuilt front and rear suspensions, and a real good track with 96 new studs on it.

Any other owners of these out there and what can you tell me about them?

A couple people have told me they are a good sled and the motors are pretty good. I have read of some crank shaft problems on other websites though but not many reports.

Anything I should be aware of? I appreciate your feedback. Thanks!

Big and heavy.. I have owned 3 XLT's I had pretty good luck with mine I wouldn't worry to much about the Crank if you had one of the Bad crankshafts she would have let go by now, not a great sled on tight trails but on the straight aways with rough terrain with the Extra 12 suspension it was heaven, nothing like the sound of a triple.

Those sleds are bulletproof. I speak for alot of locals here in the home of Polaris when I say that sled, the '93 XLT (and following years) was probably the best thing to come out of the plant. I know of alot of them that were bought by employees and literally rode into the ground and refused to die. You will be very happy with it.

I have a 94 XLT SKS, it has 10,000 miles on it and the clutch springs are starting to go. Other than that the only thing I have done was a new gasket on the chain case, spark plugs and shocks.
