I had one. Was heavey but otherwise liked it. Had a problem deploying it. Was one year old. They gave me a choice. They would fix it and I would be on my own when warrenty ran out as they were not keeping parts for it. Second choice was I could pick out a new trolling motor but had to decide right away. That was a quick 600.00 loss for one years use. That was my fourth minncota motor over the years. No more minnkota products for me.

I dont mind when new products hit the market, but these companies should be able to make parts for discontinued products for some time after they stop making them.We spend alot of coin on products like this and should be able to get service on them when things go wrong.I use to own a pinpoint trolling motor and had several problems with it.It doesnt help when you have hightech stuff hanging on the front of your boat and bashing big waves, thats a heavy pounding on equipment.I now have a Minnkota maxim,no problems, very rugged..

I was told by Minnkota that parts are usually available for 10 or 15 years. Maybe I'm just lucky. I've gone thru 4 seasons with no problems and usually fish LOW, Milleacs, Winnie, Gull and Vermillion. I thought it would use a lot of battery power with the auto store and deploy but I,ve used it for 8 hours on a windy day on LOW and it performed well. I guess I'm wondering if my time is running out or if anyone else has one that is still working good.

When the units were turned back in they sent them through a shredder. Didn"t even salvage parts. These units are now off warrenty. Your unit may run for a long time but there was deffinately an issue that minnkota didn't want to deal with. Good luck!
