Ice and FIsh conditions

We are going to south dokato next saturday and am wondering if there is any thin ice any were. Is the ice on lakes ok to drive on with a truck or weeler.

Also would like to no if anything is biting on any of the lakes with in 1 hour of waubay.

I don't hink that you will have anything to worry about for ice conditions. There is way more ice out here then there is aroun SoMN. 18"-30" of ice is what I have found on most lakes wihtin an hour of Waubay.

Stay mobile and you should hit some fish!!

A pickup went thru the ice today at Sinai. One person escaped, the other is still missing. The search has gone from a search and rescue, to a recovery as of late this afternoon. This happened just off the boat ramp.

Please be careful, and say a prayer for the fisherman and his family.

This is a very sad thing. I don't think it was right off the boat ramp thou. The geese were keeping an area on the south side open. Hopefully we can find out for sure so it doesn't happen again. Please check the ice before going out.

The ice is never consistant on Siani. I almost fell through on foot one year near the boat ramp.

News sed that there had been some honkies there keepin the water open until up to just a couple weeks ago, if its the truth, that would make for some scary ice for a pickup truck

Ya, their was also another vehicle on the bottom of the lake that fell in a couple days earlier where the one fell through yesterday.
