Battery any Good????

I have a deep cycle battery in the fish house that needed to be charged. I brought it home and put it on the charger. After 1 hour I checked the water levels and 2 of the cells were frozen or at least had ice on the top. Is this a sign that the battery is bad? or is this normal in these cold temps?

Sounds bad to me. Warm up the battery, top of the cells that need water. Slow charge it overnight at least. Then take it in (and keep it warm) to a place like Fleet Farm, Checker or Napa, Batteries Plus etc.. to have them test it.

Typically a wet cell battery will be subject to freezing if it does not have a charge. Depending on how severely it froze, the battery may or may not be okay. Also, the fact that it froze may indicate a bad battery as mentioned.

Previous advice was good, refill low cells (distilled water is best) and charge it up and have it load tested.

If you have a tester you might be able to test each cell's specific gravity.
