Windy City Walleye Hunter
It was sad to hear about the passing of Gump Worsley. As an old Black Hawk fan, I remember many a game that he did us in, while not wearing a mask. He was one of the dinosaurs and will be missed.Windy

DinkADunk
I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Gump Worsley at a goalie camp back in the day and managed to obtain one of his goalie sticks after a game. Although I developed my style after the teaching of Jacque Plante, Gump had an interesting approach to playing and I enjoyed watching and learning from him. I remember one time, when he started tinkering with wearing a mask, he was warming up before a game and wasn't wearing his mask. He had the mask resting on the top of the net. Well one of his teammates took a shot and it hit top webing and the mask exploded. Funny, the refs, stadium crew, and Northstars players are picking up pieces of the shattered mask for a few minutes. Well, Gump played that game without a mask - quite the treat.
