Humphrey lantern

MLaker2

Question

Anybody ever have trouble with their Humphrey gas lights not giving off enough light. Mine are 10+ years old, a couple years ago one started to dim, now they are both about half as light as they should be. I replaced the regulator last year and that didn't help. I have a full 100 lb tank. Do they get gummed up, if so is there an orifice or something to clean/replace? I have tried to disassmble them before but haven't gotten anywhere. I'm about ready to replace at least one to see if that helps.

They have nozzle that the mantle is tied onto you can screw those off and there is a little screen on top you can try blowing them out. There is also a orfice you have to take the 3 screws or so off the sided and pull out and you will find the orfice and you can clean that. Also make sure to have the proper mantles. I assume you do but I have run into people that try to use a coleman lantern mantle on a humphrey light and it won't work right and will always be dim. Good luck with find out your problem.
