0 BIG DS
Just take it easy on the seafoam as it can cancel the effectiveness of the Amsoil and you could damage the engine. I mix two gallons of gas at a time and that will last me several weeks and I have never had to add Seafoam or had a issue with my gas. I also use 87 out of the pump and Amsoil or Stens mix. Most of my customers do the same thing and I very seldom need to do any tune-ups due to varnish from old gas. Granted I don't get the $$ from the repairs, but if they are happy with a trouble free peice of equipment, they will be back for more.
0 theoilman
First of all, I assume this thread is talking about AMSOIL Saber Professional 2-cycle pre-mix oil.I do not recommend using Seafoam or other such product with AMSOIL (And also AMSOIL Corp. agrees, or rather I agree with AMSOIL Corp.) I have never been able to find a data sheet or any technical information to know what seafoam is.I have never gotten a clear answer in any of the schools I have been in whether Saber Professional contains a fuel preservative or not, However experience tells me that it does have. I have heard from many people using many different machines with AMSOIL pre-mix 2-cycle lubes that even after sitting up with over 1-year oil fuel mixed in the tank that the engines still starts on the first or second pull. I once saw pictures of a pair of fuel tanks from a pre-mix outboard engine, one that had AMSOIL and the other that had a cheap petroleum -- and this boat had set up for several years -- the AMSOIL mixed tank pickup and sender were clean and ready to go, the petroleum tank had so much rust the whole thing had to be thrown away. The current preferred method of storage is if it is to set up for more than a couple of months to use the new AMSOIL Fogging Oil to protect the engine for up to 18 months storage. Also, AMSOIL has a Fuel Stabilizer to extend gasoline life. Currently gasoline from the pump begins to deteriorate and lose octane in as little as 6 weeks! The AMSOIL Fuel Stabilizer will extend gasoline storage for up to 18 months. You can buy the products on-line direct, just go through my site link below and from there to the store.
