Wire extensions for trasnom mount?

Bassboy1645

Question

Is there an easy way to extend wires on a transom mount trolling motor to run wires to the bow compartment were i keep my trolling batteries?? can it be done so everything is hidden?? I like the idea of the bow mount but mine is old and dont work well..........im kinda torn between another bow moutn or a transom....bow mount would be nice for muskie casting but the transom is nice for backtrolling eyes which i fish for more often......i dont really want 2 motors(money wise) and Im thinkign on splash guards too.

I did it using 4 gauge wire and it works fine. As far as hiding the wires goes. That depends on your boat's set up. Personally I'd put one in back and one in front if you can afford it. That's my plan this year or next.

Just run another wire harness form the front battery to the back. Hook the harness to a female trolling motor plug in and wire your trolling motor wire to a male plug in. Make sure you have a 30 amp fuse at the battery though. Hope this makes sense to ya. Junky......
