water clarity question

I think the lack of snow cover is helping reduce the water

clarity. When I was fishing on Sleepy Eye lake yesterday the

water was really cloudy.Vis was only about 3ft. And there were bubbles coming up the hole every once in while like the weeds that were decaying and belching off gases. Just a guess.

I have found that cameras have a tough time in stained water lakes. I'd check the DNR site for water clarity on your lake. If it is a stained water lake it will always be difficult to use your camera.

Sometimes current in the lake can stir things up a bit, and in that case you'll have good and bad experiences with your camera.

The metro lakes seem to be a little cloudy yet, don't know why, but I broke out the camera and didn't see a whole lot. 2-3ft visibility on the first lake, worse on the second lake, and I didn't even break it out on the third lake I fished this weekend, could tell it was cloudy just by looking down the hole. It all depends on the water, I've seen as far as 20-25 ft underwater on super clear lakes.(Could see my shiner under a tip-up at least 20 ft away)

I thought without the snow cover, you would be able to see quite well, this is not the case so far this year.
