vexillar batteries??

Slysters previous post abou deep cycle batteries got me thinking.....on my vexiallr i charge the battery up and i get the green light....i fish for oh lets say six hours and i have a yellow light...i bring it in and warm up the vexiallr in the house after fishing and the light turns green again. what gives?? Is it a good charge still or what?? either way i usually recharge after every use...

I agree in that a battery will lose a little from being cold, but that isn't what is happening. A battery will give a draw of 7 amp hours on a 7 amp battery, continuous use. If you stop the draw a battery will regerate a little, but if you had use it a lot, not a significant amount. A Vex has a pretty low draw, so you should be able to run quite a while. A nine amp battery will only last longer on a charge.

They loose quite a bit of capacity, actually. Somewhere around 35-40% depending on type and temperature.

It's not that they loose the charge, per se, the capacity to give up the full amp-hours diminishes when they are cold.

i am asuming your talking about the led indicator for your charger indicator, i would worry to much about that i have gone for 2days at about 8hours aday aprox without recharging, and everything still works fine, you will get the draw down when its colder, and if you quit using it for a bit it will go back up like stated before, just make sure that you fully charge it after every use and you will maximize your battery life,
