Rod Blanks - Where to buy?

smallies24

Question

I used to make all of my own fishing rods but the distributor now requires a tax ID for a business after some folks misrepresented their product. Does anyone know of a distributor you can get blanks, guides, epoxy etc. through? St Croix blanks would be preferrable. I am primarily intersested in seconds but do ocassionally purchase a first. I live in North Mankato but visit the twin cities area often.

Thanks for any info,

Brian

Retail stores? Cabela's sometimes have a few (I always check the bargin bin), and Thorne Brothers always has a decent selection with discounts on discontinued blanks. Other than that you have a miriad of choices on the Internet. Some that come to mind are Mudhole (they should have a bunch of discontinued St. Croix blanks listed soon), Jann's Netcraft, FishSticks4U, and the various sponsors of rod-building.org

If it is the vendor I am thinking of, their supplier won't ship out the 2nds anymore, they burn them instead because of the mis-representation you are talking about.
