MJCatfish
Wouldn't it be nice if someone would put together a chip for counties? It could have property owners and public lands, etc. MJ

0 schweady
Hey, MJ - I just went out to lakemap.(you-know) and saw some new info just posted: "The chip is feature packed with: highly detailed road map, thousands of points of interest, state and wildlife management areas, parks, and hunting zones." Just a week too late, eh? It also had this: "The chip also features fast redraw and zoom levels to .03 miles." In case anyone out there is keeping score, the "old" chip allows zooming to 0.02 mi. I think it's a matter of the amount of data crammed onto that little thing. (But, I don't suppose I'll really miss that one last zoom level...) Both the New Lakemaster and Old Lakemaster chip have this.
0 schweady
Yeah, once you zoom in under the 3 mile level a little tree symbol shows up with the name of the WMA, but what MJCatfish and I were hoping for was that the boundaries be shown and colored in, like they did with the National Wildlife Refuges. Perhaps we were hoping for too much and it's still done the same way on the new chip, too.
0 MJCatfish
True dat, Schweady. I'm guessing it's a matter of time before someone starts to do it. The million dollar questions may be, "How much time?"I'm guessing eventually they'll have landowners on a chip and then be able to access updates via the web every so often as land changes ownership. I'd like to see some of the county public land on their as well. MJ
