yukon vs voyager

I've been having a hard time deciding which one I want and I'm looking for some encouragement to point me in the right direction. The only thing I don't like is that the voyager is a bit heavy, but will skids on the bottom help with pulling to make it seem less heavy?? I will sometimes have 3 people fishing with me which the voyager will provide enough room to accomodate that and yet will be pretty roomy with just 2 grown men. If anyone can list some known pros/cons between these two I'd appreciate it. I'm a week away from going out to buy one of the two, but i'm racking my brain on which one will work best. Thanks.

Gator, I have a voyager and think its a perfect 2 man. I will be removing the 3rd seat this year as it gets pretty tight sitting 3 in a row on the tub. It is usually better to throw the third in the front of the shack on a bucket.

I usually pull by hand and while its a heavy unit and you do break a bit of a sweat its not enough for me to consider getting a smaller version. I heat it with a Mr. Heater Cooker and that keeps it pretty warm even on the below zero days.

My 2 cents, if you have the option get the voyager. You can never have enough room.

Thanks for the info Cheffrey, the good thing about fishing with 3 is one is my son so he doesn't take up much room, but the idea you gave sounds like a good plan too. While it is the biggest flip over they make and most are near the same size, you really can't go wrong. Gonna have to head to Gander/Scheels to test it out, guess after the replies and great info everyone gives, that will seal the deal. Keep it coming, thx guys.

I have had a voyager for 4 years and it has been a very good house.I normally fish two and three would be a bit unless you have a young one or two in the house.

As far as pulling it,with two adults its not to bad.Pulling it by yourself for any distance will be a chore.I use a 4-wheeler so it usually isnt a issue.

I have alot of gear in my house and to load it in the back of the truck that can even be a job.I do think any house in the larger will be a job for just one person.

I bought a voyager last year and it is the best ice fishing investment I have ever made! That is just my 2 cents. fihsing two guys is ideal. you have plenty of room for a tank and heater. I put two of the clip on rattle reels in the far corners and put a coupe extra holes for the vex and the camera. I have never tried a third person in there yet. I know this winter there will be a few times we will have three. I also bought it late last year so draging it out on early ice I never got to do. It does get a little geavy with two guys gear, but with one man you can muscle it around. Hope this helps

I also have a Voyager, and wouldn't wan't it smaller. Even when I go out by my self and my wife and daughter will come out later to see how it is going. it fits everyone nice and can easily keep it warm. My buddy has a Yukon and after I bought my Voyager (at wife's suggestion, was going to by the Yukon.) he was wishing he would have done the same thing. Weights not as big of an issue with me though since I have a 4 wheeler. But do a couple of mods and it stores all the gear nice. Just my 2 cents worth.

I have a voyager and fishing three is tight, need to put the 3rd guy up front on a bucket. As far as pulling goes, it is tough by hand, that was until last year when I made a sled to pull mine on. i used two down hill ski's, a couple of 2x4's and some 2x2 cross memebers, it pulls extremely easy now. I can pull it with one hand now....

    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
