chucker34
I'd like to try next year and have been surfing the web and the DNR list of guides to see what my options are. Anyone have any suggestions or successful experiences with guides they'd like to share? BTW, successful doesn't necessarily mean taking a monster bear but having a good time and seeing some bears. chucker34
Thanks for everyone's help. I really appreciate all the responses. But seriously, is it one of those deals where no one can offer advice unless its a sponser of the site?
harvey lee
I have hunted bear for a few years and two out of three years got my bear.I only used a guide one time. The other times I did my own baiting and it was just as much a thrill to check the baits as it was to harvest one. As far as the guides go,I would get the list of guides from the DNR and call and ask for references. There are many good ones out there and they will give you names of customers you can call. If you have the time and the extra money for the gas,it is alot of fun and exciting to do your own baiting. I would give it a few more days.In the meantime, check the DNR info and you should get all the info you need.I would tell you who IO used but you would not be happy with me if I sent you there and I believe he is out of busisness. chucker34
Thanks Harvey Lee. I mainly wouldn't have the time or know-how (where to hunt on public ground) etc. Plus I'm thinking the repeated trips up north would eat a lot of gas. Iceman, I will e-mail you soon.
