Minnetonka
I am planning on taking my ten year old with me on her first Pheasent hunt tomorrow. I live in the SW Metro. I was planing on heading west and south and hunting public hunting lands. Can anyone give me a report or point in the direction of some areas that might be productive. Thanks
Eric Wettschreck
Look at a map, draw lines from Worthington to Jackson to Windom to Marshall. Hunt anywhere in that square.
LovenLifeGuy
Minnetonka, I have been out on public lands near Howard lake and Maple lake twice this past week including today. Only saw one person in the two days and flushed around 10 birds a day (not all roosters). Had my 7 month old lab out today and he is doing great! We got one today on one shot. Kicked up several birds while walking the dog through the heavy slough grass and could not see them until too late. If you walk with the dog in the cat tails and keep her on the outside I would bet she would get some good shooting. My .02. If you want to up the odds head to the area described above in the first response. Good luck LovenLifeGuy
