I am by no means a Busch fan (I can't stand either one of them), but 50 points seems a little stiff when comparing it to other pentalties in the recent past. Granted the points lost really don't mean anything considering he is not in the chase or in contention for the 11 place bonus.

The right rear shock didn't compress after last weeks qualifying. A major advantage, having your right side spoiler up in the air and nose down at a track like Lowes. I thought 50 points was a bit steep to, but maybe this is part of the escalating penalties they have talked of. Plus, NASCAR isn't that big a fan of Kurt Busch either.
