Sleds make great squirrel homes

This past weekend I took the cover off my sled and found a little surprise. A red squirrel had been making himself right at home. In the fold of the tarp the I used to cover the sled, I found approx. 500+ black walnuts that it had been storing for the winter. When I popped the hood I found the rest of the stash. It had walnuts in every nook and cranny of the engine. Underneath the motor mounts it had made its home of grass and sticks. What a nightmare cleaning that thing out. It took me about two hours to get the 100+ nuts and grass out of there. Surprisingly, my little buddy didn't chew up any of the wires by the looks of it. The whole time I was dinging around with this, the squirrel was in a nearby tree cussing me out with his chattering laugh.gif Just thought some of you might get a kick out of this story!

In the early 90's, a friend of mine stored his Harley in his pole barn for the winter. This pole barn had a dog kennel attached to it, and the dog food was stored in the pole barn. Mice had packed (and I mean PACKED!!) his exhaust pipes and mufflers completly full of dog food, right up and partially into the cylinder heads. Not even a smidgen of air between each piece of dog food. Busy little critters.
