Long Underwear Question

Hey kids, it's getting the time of the year to start thinking war. What types of thermal underwear do you all recommend. I was thinking some Body Armour but was sure you all out here have a whole buch of stuff that is good. Warm and thin is good to cut down on layers.

I use the Cabela's version of the UnderArmor. For almost all occasions I use the medium weight garmet and then layer from there. Works well on the boat in the fall, wearing waders steelheading, or a base layer when ice fishing.

I have the cabelas polar weight long underwear. This stuff is warm. All last ice season I wore this with jeans and a sweatshirt. That was all I needed even on the coldest days hole hopping.

When you got yours from Cabelas, did it shrink? I plan on ordering some, and would like to know how the sizes worked out for you.

No mine didn't shrink. I had to get that ugly brown color because they were sold out of the black. They sold out very quick last year except for the XX+ sizes so I would order them early.

I used to work there, over in Dundee. If your local store is sold out of the size and color you want, have them check the computer and see what is in stock at the other stores. Some items sell better in one location vs another. They will transfer what you want to the store of your choice, or just ship directly to your home. I prefer to get it shipped to the store, often the tax is less than the shipping cost.

I start out with a light weight silk, and then the polar weight material. Followed by the fleece and then my Ice Armor suit. Snug as a bug, specially when fishing on Lake Mary last December when it dropped below zero for the weekend of the championships.
