Wood ticks are back out!!

Picked a couple of wood ticks off one of my dogs the other night, one of them was one of those real small ones you hate to see, so I checked my other dog and sure enough, found a couple on her. I had used the One-spot stuff earlier in the year but as per usual the ticks 'go away' during the middle of the summer, but now a few are back out, so check your dogs!

Frontline is a monthly application, so if your in dought of the last time you appied it, might as well do one more application for the season. I think the tick would have to make contact with the skin to recieve any of the chemicals from the product.

live near bemidji and last few times out grouse hunting, my two dogs have had numerous deer ticks on them. use frontline and seems to be working, as ticks are gone next the day. also get lymes shot every year.

Just got back from 2 trips grouse hunting in park rapids area ticks are real thick . I also put on frontline the day i left home to go hunting my dog had a number of ticks but the next day they were all dead i used a fine tooth comb after every hunt but i still managed to miss some but they were dead in his kennel the next day.I don't think frontline does much to repell them it just does a good job taking care of them after they attach themself.

Speak of repelling them, I've used Cedar Chips for a while now, and Sunday I caught a tick actually leaving the dog box. An old timer told me years ago that the cedar smell is too strong for a tick......I have always used cedar for the smell they give my dogs, and kept his comment in the back of my mind. I guess he was right!

Any additional ammo against this pests is never a bad thing!
