PerchJerker
I just can't get on the water - grouse opener a week ago, daughter's birthday party last weekend, bow hunting this weekend. I sure would like to mix in some walleyes somewhere but spooling up my trolling reels is as close as I've been lately. I'm getting anxious for the October full moon, going to do plenty of howling then. Anyone else going stir crazy waiting to get on the water? eyepatrol
I've seen a lot of discussion in regards to the October full moon. Beeing one who hasn't fished in the fall before, I'm guessing there is some significance to this particular month's full moon which makes it stand out more than other full moons? I take it, it's a good time to be out fishing?
PerchJerker
It has more to do with water temp than the full moon in my opinion, the fishing is good all fall but the moon phase should trigger more activity in the fish. And it's a nice convenience when you're on the water all night long. The cooler water brings the baitfish close to shore and the walleyes follow with feedbags on - low 60's usually means lots of fish coming in, low 50's is even better, mid 40's means big fish coming in. It'd be a great way to break in that new rig of yours, don't you think
eyepatrol
Heck yeah, you aren't kiddin' there! I've never done the fall walleye bite before, but with the rig, I just can't pass it up this year! Every year prior I've been on the water quacking and honking, and it's a bunch of fun, but I feel like I'm missing out on some great 'eye action. Paper work is 99% complete for the purchase. Should be all done by Wednesday or Thursday. Will be picking up the rig by middle of next week and hopefully fishing the weekend of October 7 and then again on October 14 for the Southcentral Fall Get-together. So I should be able to experience some good fall fishing this year!

Team Otter
Quit wasting your time hunting and get on the water. The bite is heating up!
eyepatrol
I need a boat first! Next week Wednesday we're getting it come rain or shine (loan docs should be done by then too). I figure I'll do a little scouting before the get-together on the 7th and/or 8th.
