archery near st.cloud

i didn't know where to put this so it's here. does anyone know of some good public land near the st. cloud area for a first time archery hunter? i go to st.cloud state and was wondering if there were some good areas within 10 or so min. any help would be great

There are some public areas just north of becker. that is about a 1/2 hour from St. Cloud State. I am not sure what it is called, though. Sherburne wildlife refuge is north of becker/big lake as well, however I am not sure on what permits etc. you need for hunting there. Can anyone help him out?????

there is lots of public land in rice, just down hwy 10. theres deer there but ya gotta look for em. I'll be goin out tomorrow evening. was out last night saw a 4 pointer that i passed up and got me a grey fox. but it had mange so didnt want to even touch it. hope it helps

I agree that the area around Rice are the best. There is one directly on the Mississippi, I can't remember the name. That looked very promising.

St. Cloud has an open deer season with a permit. Go to city hall and they can inform you a little more.
