Fishdeer
Stumped ! When scoring a Rack If it is a 9 pointer does the extra tine get deducted from the total ? And how do i figure out which tine that would be if it is deducted. I have 5 on one side and 4 on the other. And does that extra tine make it a non-typ? GerrySchoolcraft
Do a search on Pope and Young measuring form and you will find a form you can print. This will help and it will not score as a nontypical.
slimngrizzly
You always start from the brow tines G1, G2, G3, etc. The forth or shortest point (on the 5 pt side) would be deducted. Its a symetry deduction, not an abnormal point. Any point protruding from the top of the beam (that doesnt share a base with another point) is considered typical. Remember to measure a 4th circumferance on the 4 pt side as well, you ALWAYS get 4 and only 4 H-scores.Its realy very simple, until you start talking abnormal points and NT's it can get pretty complex.Do what Gerry said and look for a score sheet, its pretty much self explanitory to score a typical. Good luck.
